These are comments taken from other sites on which I formerly advertised this blog:
The TES website: a site for teachers and other education personnel
“I think they are great! Have bookmarked so I can keep up on updates :O)”
“I also thought they were great. They remind me of my old Rohl Dahl poems, but these are more grown up. Would definitely recommend them to my nieces and nephews”
“They are wonderful; well done and thanks for sharing them. I hope you go on to get paper published if that is what you want.Good luck. Great talent.”
“Not generally speaking a poetry reader but absolutely loved these especially the cake one – perhaps because I’m a food teacher? Totally outlandish but very funny. Keep on writing and posting.”
“I think they are fantastic! You really are unique!x”
“Love it – somewhere between Edward Lear, Roger McGough, Lewis Carrol and Roald Dahl. I can really see kids enjoying this kind of thing, with the combination of irreverance, humour and surprising events. Consider yourself bookmarked!”
“Just read him the poem! He laughed his head off (this must have been telepathy or something because we HAVE been making chicken sqwaking noises all week!).”
“I love them! Have bookmarked your blog! Can we use them?”
“More please! My own kids will love them, and I might be able to use them at KS3, introduction to poetry. “
“I love your work! A bit Spike Milligan with a touch of Edward Lear and Lewis Carroll, but still beautifully unique. Kepp ‘em coming (I’ve bookmarked your site).”
“These are great! “Madhouse” made me laugh!”
“Brilliant! Wish I’d seen these BEFORE I retired! The kids would have loved them.Impressive, Paul- I look foward to reading more and will bookmark for my granddaughter for when she can read!”
Hello. This isn’t simply an exercise in vanity. Those who have discussed these poems with me on other sites will know that I intend to try and have them published. When I approach publishers I will need to explain how this stuff has a market.
So, that’s why the comments are posted up here; for their
benefit….
Hello
I have now been added to the contributor lists of three publishers and/or anthologists.
Things are progressing nicely!
Totally delightful pages. Liked the illustrations, sad about the
slug’s demise but there it is…everything is food for something
Hi Paul. You know I think your work is really good, so that is not what this comment is for.
I wanted to let you know that my 3 favourite animals are dog, sheep and goat – in that order.
Now, dog poetry is on this site….. !!
Keep up the good work
I love goats. I’m particularly fond of the big ones with great floppy ears. I’ve no idea why I have a thing for ears. Still, the flappier the better. From spaniels, through goats, to the simple ears of the cat, which can be folded back and set in place. There are few things so tactile as a great flappy ear.
A goat it is. My favourite farmyard animal will win his own poem, at last…
Oh, and thank you. You’ve always been a great support. If only all my readers were to leave comments…..
C’mon people, you know you want to……
