These are comments taken from other sites on which I formerly advertised this blog:

The TES website: a site for teachers and other education personnel

“I think they are great! Have bookmarked so I can keep up on updates :O)”
“I also thought they were great. They remind me of my old Rohl Dahl poems, but these are more grown up. Would definitely recommend them to my nieces and nephews”

“They are wonderful; well done and thanks for sharing them. I hope you go on to get paper published if that is what you want.Good luck. Great talent.”

“Not generally speaking a poetry reader but absolutely loved these especially the cake one - perhaps because I’m a food teacher? Totally outlandish but very funny. Keep on writing and posting.”

“I think they are fantastic! You really are unique!x”
“Love it - somewhere between Edward Lear, Roger McGough, Lewis Carrol and Roald Dahl. I can really see kids enjoying this kind of thing, with the combination of irreverance, humour and surprising events. Consider yourself bookmarked!”
“Just read him the poem! He laughed his head off (this must have been telepathy or something because we HAVE been making chicken sqwaking noises all week!).”

“I love them! Have bookmarked your blog! Can we use them?”
“More please! My own kids will love them, and I might be able to use them at KS3, introduction to poetry. “

“I love your work! A bit Spike Milligan with a touch of Edward Lear and Lewis Carroll, but still beautifully unique. Kepp ‘em coming (I’ve bookmarked your site).”
“These are great! “Madhouse” made me laugh!”
“Brilliant! Wish I’d seen these BEFORE I retired! The kids would have loved them.Impressive, Paul- I look foward to reading more and will bookmark for my granddaughter for when she can read!”

“Love your poems!! My children will love them. I will email you so that I can use them! Thank you!!”
Son LOVES the Jimmy Price one. He was in stitches. You really are making this chickenpox malarky easier to deal with xxx”
“I just read Kafkaesque Screams to my chickenpox ridden son (who is 8) and he loves it!Love the dog one - going to tell my Mum to read that one.”

“i love your poems!!! Brilliant…you are the King…of childrens verse!!!”

“Good luck with the publisher! I think you deserve it, I am really enjoying your poems!”

A website for writers and those in the publishing industry:

“Wow! Amazing verses. Made me laugh.”

“Hello Paul! I love the poems! I’ve read a few, and have bookmarked the site so I can read more later. I know someone who would also love the poems, so I’ll recommend the site to her.”

“Paul - my 11 year old daughter has just read your web-page. here are her comments: “Your poems are really good and very funny to read. Your pictures are really good too. If you get them published, I would buy the book.”

“I think an illustrator would jump at the scope these poems offer - if I could draw I’d be offering my own services as they really lend themselves to visual creativity.
You seem to have the humour/horror quotient just right for this age group but as Jay said earlier, there is adult appeal as well and I suspect dads would particularly enoy reading these aloud  “

“Paul
They’re brilliant. I haven’t had chance to read them all but those I have read are extremely well written. I have always envied the talent of John Hegley and I think that your work is in a similar vein. There is definitely a market out there for your work because it is every bit as good as Purple Ronnie.”

“Fantastic dude, takes me back to my school days”
“Paul - I had to spend an hour in the car with a child who kept saying things like, “Isn’t Jake the Cake” great and I really like….” - you really captured her imagination (and she’s quite a discriminating 11 year old!) I made the mistake of asking if she had a favourite and she started to list them…I don’t think she missed any out! (And she only read them once, briefly!)
“The Opposition” will always seem better (you are a human after all  ) - it’s good to know what you are up against but you also have to have your own unique voice - and YOU have that. I look forward to making that purchase for her.  “
“I really like them - I’m not 11 although I was once! But I would happily buy a book of these to read both for myself and to entertain others. Go for it. Get a tape of John Hegley, or go and see him live. He’s a great guy and very very good.”
“Finally got around to looking at your poems, Paul. After all the accolades on this thread, I knew it would be worthwhile. And what can I say that hasn’t already been said? I absolutely loved them!”
If I’m being honest, Paul, I thought it was a Jane Austen-type scam (or whatever the word is). The poems seemed so good to me that I thought they’d been published already by someone famous, and I Googled a couple of lines to see if anything turned up. “

You’ve got a real knack for this, Paul. You should enter some of the WN/WM poetry competitions. ****** ********
(who usually adjudicates) loves it when she gets humorous stuff that’s also impeccably well crafted (since so much humorous verse isn’t!).
Yours is some of the best I’ve seen for a long time.

Hello. This isn’t simply an exercise in vanity. Those who have discussed these poems with me on other sites will know that I intend to try and have them published. When I approach publishers I will need to explain how this stuff has a market.
So, that’s why the comments are posted up here; for their
    benefit….

    Hello

I have now been added to the contributor lists of three publishers and/or anthologists.

    Things are progressing nicely!
