The lion loved the antelope

his love was unrequited

she laughed and said “we can’t elope”

here are the reasons cited:

“The matter of your diet

gives me cause for some alarm

you’d soon eat me, don’t deny it

and I’d rather not be harmed

Your mane is far too hairy

and you haven’t any horns

I confess I find you scary!”

lion’s heart was ripped and torn

Now, he trimmed his mane and tail

lion tried so hard to win her

but found it was to no avail

so ate her for his dinner

Moral

It is an incredible bungle

to be rude to the king of the jungle

Fantastic poems!! Will use them at school, the children will love them! Are you going to be published? You should!
    Thank you!

  2. Paul Hughes Says:

Thank you! I do hope to be published one day. If people like these poems then please pass them on. The more widely they’re distributed then the closer I come to this goal.

I agree, these poems need to be more widely recognised.
    Such talent
I wanna see them in the future anthology (Y)
